Best scope for bolt Howa

I have a VX-3i 2.5-8x36mm on my 6.5 Grendel semi-auto. For hunting deer in NW Georgia it's the perfect balance of weight and magnification. I'm in the process of replacing it with a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40 (w/Firedot recticle) and ordering a CDS custom dial from Leupold. That said, it won't be long before that orphaned 2.5-8x36 scope will be adopted by a Howa 1500 mini-action. I just can't seem to let spare parts sit around!
