I bought a PSA 18? mlok upper on sale a while back for super cheap planning on re-barreling it down the road. I didn?t have very high expectations and have read a few things about ejection/failure to feed issues with them but decided to pull the trigger anyway. Low and behold wouldn?t ya know mine also had ejection issues. I have to be honest, at the first trip to the range I had to try really hard not to beat it up against a tree. Not only would it fail to eject rounds no matter how I adjusted the gas block, the target looked like I shot it with a 12 gauge shotgun. After regrouping a few days later I decided to give it one more shot. So I tore it apart, drilled out the gas port, lapped the receiver, bedded the barrel, and headed back to the range. It took me a little bit to get the gas block adjusted but once I did, I shot group with hornady black123?s and AA nosler 120?s and it made a drastic improvement! Thank goodness I didn?t pitch this barrel and decided to give it another try. I only have about 80 rounds through it so who knows, it might even get better. So all in all I DID get a good deal!
