Do I remember correctly the old PPU brass used large rifle primers? Seeing you are using CCI 450s with this brass that tells me the new cases use Small Rifle Primers. The more brass between the primer and the edge of the case should help the primer pocket grow at a slower pace.
Federal brass has been a soft formulation for years. I have loaded 7-39 waters for years and federal brass is good for about 3 loads with it while reformed Remington or Winchester brass is good for about 5 or six loadings after the initial fireforming shot.
Even without loading them up yet. I'm positive they will have less case capacity then the hornady are starline.
I have compared the hornady and Starline before on case capacity will running ladders. And the hornady can hold a bit more power then the Starline.
So seeing the avreage weight of the ppu brass I'm guessing it's going to be close too 2 or 3 tenths less case capacity the the other 2 cases.
Planning on useing them for the 85 grain makers in my cz. Since that lil bullet don't need much powder too be speedy.
Will save the Starline for the big pills in the cz.
I only use the hornady in the ar grendels. But might one day play with them in the cz.
My Remington ammo shows up today. So planning on shooting it this weekend and starting a thread on it as well.
