Put a true lowmass bcg in it and an adjustable gas block.

Both will make the rifle work much better with and without the can.

Standard carbine buffer and buffer spring should work fine. It does in my rifle with adjustable gas and lowmass bcg.

I've definitely considered an adjustable gas block. But with all my AR's (5.56, 6.8 SPC, 300 BLK), I'm batting a 1000 with standard gas block. Plus I don't think the Larue rail will accommodate one.
