Army subgun search resumes

One of the most disappointing things to see is the Army solicit a 9mm Luger SMG in 2018.

The 9mm Luger was introduced in 1902 folks.

And .50 BMG was introduced in 1918. Old doesn't necessarily equal bad. IMO, 9x19 is a pretty good SMG round.

I guess the US just doesn't care that much about terminal performance for this new SMG, assuming they want the ammunition compatible with the ill-advised new Modular Handgun...

Yes. I imagine they would rather avoid the German approach of having two different calibers for pistol and SMG.
