Sort of - depends on your lens. I see a living language evolving so I mean commonly-used to convey a sense of normalcy, whereas I'm guessing you see the unwanted distortion of an established definition so your widespread use is pointing out an unacceptable level of occurrences. It's only mis-use until it isn't...
