So, I've been watching for some time, no comments found the necessary synapses in my brain to fire off a post. But, alas I find that I must comment in agreement with the Cabela's issue. I believe Bass Pro still considers the franchise to be competition, and is doing it's best to let it whither on the vine. The Cabela's here was always packed, and still has lots of cars in the lot. But the only thing they're interested in selling is the new BPS merchandise that shows up to take over more and more of the floorspace. The reloading section isn't worth visiting anymore. The ammo section is packed with 6.5 CM and 6.8SPC. There are ten slots for 6.8 (mostly full) and more than 20 for the CM (again, mostly full). There are now 2 slots of Grendel (Black and Wolf sc - always empty...)
I don't understand Ian's point, and cannot find the comment in the video linked. I didn't watch the whole thing, as it began to drive me crazy by 5m because of the droning and pace...
The Grendel is the best general purpose round I can find. Want to shoot small groups? At distance? Check. Want to hunt? Check. Want to be lethal on varmints? Check. Want to blast? Check. Want to run a high end rifle? Check. Want to build a budget rifle that actually performs well beyond it's weight? Check. Want to roll you own with multiple nodes in every bullet weight/class? Check. Want short, long, light, bench, bolt, single, semi? Gotcha.
I want a Henry .410/6.5Grendel survival rifle. My life would be complete.
The only folks that are threatened by Grendel are the folks that try to compete with it's general purpose ability and obvious performance...
