Forgotten Weapons’ Ian McCollum on 6.5 Grendel. Hmmm.

Like I said, I have not seen a single example of Ian doing anything with 6.5 Grendel.

Since he has a lot of first-hand experience with a wide range of battle rifles on steel, when he shoots 6.5 Grendel in the same settings, the light will come on. What's interesting to me is how dismissive he was when he made the ill-informed and 100% incorrect comment. He's rarely wrong on technical matters, and has very keen insight into the firearms market, not just with AR15s, but with a wide range of designs that most people have never heard of. It really looked like a personal feeling that was condescending and filled with negative emotion, which is not what he's known for.

From a buddy of mine who is a high-end collector, USMC 0311 vet, big into long range top-tier guns, .338LM, Hk417s, LMTs, etc., he sent me this text recently:

Had my 12.5 Grendel out yesterday at (training facility) intro to LR class we did for some folks. Was about 60% at 1190yds, and 100% hits at 960yds on 24" gong.

With 20" Proof Research Grendel, same Hornady Black ammo was 20/20. Weirdest thing man, 4 different barrel makers now...Bartlein, Krieger, Faxon, and PF. All fully accurized and bedded rigs by me.

All different set ups on Seekins matched sets. 4 different manufacturers of optic. They all shoot bug holes with match ammo and hand loads, and I've shot virtually every type of match, defensive, and hunting ammo. Every bullet weight from 95-130. Bolts from 3 different manufacturers.

They just shoot. Never experienced anything like it with any other cartridge on similar builds. Most cartridges just have narrow bullet weight/velocity/accuracy spectrum. It's kind of the jack of all trades.
