And that seems to sum it up. Having read these stories on the Grendel forum for many years, the answer is like yours. You just don't know how long it will take from any place. And it also seems like there is little or no QC done before it is shipped. This seems to be universal from even the better AR companies.
Not sure what to recommend to anyone these days but to buy from a reputable company and do not hesitate to cancel the order if they drag their feet. There are plenty of good barrels out there but to get one in a reasonable amount of time means you lucked out and found a place that had one in stock. Not just said it was in stock but actually had one in stock.
Glad you are finally getting yours.
