When you go through the school mass shootings, particularly where the shooter survived or left other evidence, revenge is a common theme, often for bullying in various forms, but usually such shootings do not have the shooter being very target specific. It seems to be revenge against the whole of the school. Compare that with singular school shootings whereby the shooter clearly wanted revenge against a specific target and took care of (or tried to) it and that was the end of the shooting. Santa Fe seems to be a mixture of rejection (unrequited love) and possibly bullying. The shooter intentionally did not shoot numerous targets that he did not consider to be part of his problem.

Similar patterns can be seen in many workplace shootings. You get people who just kill their boss and you get people who just shoot up the workplace. Sometimes they get their boss and whomever they saw as a problem. In some cases, they specifically don't target people they like.

As for ritalin causing school shootings, Ollie has lost his mind or maybe needs to be on ritalin himself.

I find that interesting too, that mass school shootings aren't target-specific always. Just being able to lash out at the school itself (and the people contained within the kill zone) is enough.

Agreed on the workplace violence and targeted killings, which are something much different, but agenda-driven disinformation spigots try to lump these in with all school or mass shootings.

If you read Oliver North's actual statements, and not the CNN click-bait headlines, he never said Ritalin causes school shootings. It is interesting though how many (appears to be all) school shootings are perpetrated by someone on or withdrawing from psychotropic medication, especially the worst ones, and how that is true in the US and abroad.

We can statistically say that if there is some type of mass casualty violence at a school, the perpetrator(s) are much more likely to be on/withdrawing from psych meds, than they are to use any type of firearm.

Out of the dozens of cases I listed before, ALL were on/withdrawing from psych meds. Not all of them used firearms, as stabbing was quite popular, even among the female perpetrators. Bombs and baseball bats were the lesser choices of weapons.
