That's a cool rifle. Lots of small arms history here. My uncle had a beautiful almost new condition example stolen years ago. It's why my dad bought his. It has tiurned out to be a spur of the moment purchase. Not in as good shape as it appeared, looking like a CMP barrel is on tap. We can't seem to get the copper fouling out, and we're fearing corrosive primer damage. Receiver looks good, but bluing is mostly faded. Front sight is a modern version, and the forearm has been cut short. Probably was a long forearm carbine originally. Too bad, that would be really good looking.
