SAAMI Grendel Barrel Makers?

Velocity is all about burning the powder. If the length of the barrel burns all the powder in the load and extra inch or 4 will not give you anything more. Now if you feel the longer barrel stabilizes the bullet better then accuracy "may" be improved. IMHO there are to many other variables that go into an accurate barrel to just think about length.

One thing that could be interesting is does a SAAMI barrel produce higher velocities vice other 65G spec ones.

I have seen no correlation between a SAAMI chambers vs All Others, where it comes to muzzle velocities. All other factors being equal, I believe that variations in velocity have much more to do with the bore geometry than anything else.

I have a pair of 264 LBCs from BHW, and a 6.5 Grendel (SAAMI) from Larue Tactical.

My 18 and 22" BHWs use a proprietary polygonal rifling (Caudle 3P) and have exhibited higher than average velocities with factory ammo and comparable hand loads, as reported by others.

The 18" Larue, on the other hand, runs very fast. Almost as fast as my 22" BHW. (Tested with Hornady American Gunner and Hornady Black factory ammunition). It appears to have traditional Enfield style rifling, but I cannot confirm this. I'm not sure if this is typical of the Larue barrels, but it certainly surprised me.
