SAAMI Grendel Barrel Makers?

I have to wonder what the cost is to be a SAMMI Grendel barrel maker? are the tools just more expensive? is there a fee to someone and whats the fee? is it per barrel, per tool? and who is to stop a tool maker to make a correct tool and just use it? who actually moniters this stuff?

There doesn't seem to be any cost associated, other than possibly an annual membership fee. I'm no authority on SAAMI, I just spent a few minutes on their website and found this in the FAQ section:

Q: How do I know if the ammunition I am purchasing is SAAMI “approved” or “certified”?

A: SAAMI does not “approve” or “certify” firearms or ammunition products. SAAMI creates the
voluntary standards for performance, dimensions, and other characteristics. In order to
determine if a particular product was made in accordance with those voluntary standards,
contact the manufacturer.

I would speculate that the compound throat of the 6.5 Grendel makes it somewhat harder for one to maintain their reamers to stay within the SAAMI specs than say the so-called Grendel II with the parallel throat. But then again, if one is cutting Grendel II chambers, there is no standard that has to be met. One could install a piece of bar stock into a barrel extension and call it a Grendel II.
