That definitely is an issue. Quantico Tactical and Brownells are US distributors of SPUHR and sell them for $450 (+ postage). Aadmount are selling via their website for $275 (+ postage). Big difference in price and unlikely you will see a difference in results unless the rest of your gun is similarly perfect.
SPUHR occasionally have good deals on their Swedish website. For example, at the moment they're selling a few Ceracoated 34mm mounts for 306EUR ($365USD). Plus a few dollars in international postage and it's still less than buying it locally. Unsure if they will post to the US however now that they sponsor US distributors.

As for North America being a guarantee of quality. I have returned my share of 'Made-in-USA' under warranty. Lot's of US companies now assemble overseas anyway. Vortex in Wisconsin make their scopes in China, the Philippines and Japan. Nightforce opened a plant in Idaho as they got bigger but is still owned by the Australian company, Lightforce. LaRue, Magpul and plenty of others are entirely made in the USA. If it's a nationalistic thing I understand completely, but sometimes people disguise where the parts are made and assembled. I don;t really care where it's made, as long as it is quality, available and a fair price.
Couldn't see any cantilever AR15 mounts on the Near website. Do you know if they offer any?
