I too have a Shield as a carry piece. I too started to feel undergunned with it. I too built a Grendel pistol for the car-and also for my kids bugout back pack. Mostly because I have what? 7 Grendels. And have killed what ?200 hogs with the Gendel and never felt out numbered, no matter how big the sounder of hogs or under gunned no matter how big the hog. A Gendel AR pistol should allow you to dominate any pistol caliber handgun dispute. And the .223 and blackout are "near peers" at best.
