Yes, partly this. But more importantly, and I should have mentioned this initially, a big part of my goal for this pistol is to have something with a longer effective range. I know 10mm is a beastly cartridge at handgun distances, but while I haven't looked at the ballistics tables I'm sure it's performance rapidly degrades with distance. I don't consider myself to be particularly recoil sensitive, but I also question how effective I would be with a 10mm handgun.
So I don't think a glock 20 would work for me, though I do appreciate the creative suggestion. In fact, I've toyed around with the idea of a 10mm carbine for home defense purposes but am sticking with my tavor for now.
