I have one and they aren't worth the money. It is easier and more precise to boresight using the eye. They work like the Army laser bore sight devices for small arms. You have to put the carbine into a very secure rest, insert the laser using the right size spud, and once in and turned on you have to adjust the beam to the center of the target via four very small set screws arrayed around the end of the laser. Then you turn the device 1/4 turn and adjust again. And so on until you can rotate the laser without the beam moving on the target. It takes about a half hour if you have really locked the carbine into a vice that will not move when you rotate the laser.
The plus side to that particular model is that mine came with a reflective target so even in moderate sun, you could get a bounce to about 25 meters. The downside was that the beam is pretty big at that distance. And since guys use the 68 sight, it is pretty much useless.

When we got the borelights, we were specifically warned not to laminate our offset targets, since eye-damage had occurred with other units that did this, as we were required to keep the borelight targets with us in the field, with offsets for all configurations of M4's, M4/203's, SAW's, and 240's. I had zero faith in the system, but as I was running a night range, my soldiers took my M4 and bore-sighted my new PEQ-2 for me. I took it onto the range and started dropping 200m targets at night, aiming with the beam while looking through my PVS-14's, with the weapon firmly tucked at the hip...I was sold.
That is the kit with the different mandrels that you insert into the muzzle, then rotate and adjust the laser until it turns on itself. Then you place the laser on the bore dot, and adjust your Aimpoint and PEQ onto the offset dots at 10m. The made us deploy with the weapon vices as well, which were COTS purchased.
