Does anyone know if anyone makes one of the chamber lasers that shoot a beam down the bore of the rifle? I have some for every major caliber but havent seen a Grendel yet....

I just prop my upper on a bag/rest and look down the bore. Get it lined up the best you can, adjust the scope and go to town... It usually gets me on paper the first try... Better than spending 20 bucks on something you will use once or twice.

+1 sniper20. Look down the bore then down your scope and adjust. Should be on paper at 25-50 yards.
i don't know of any grendel specific boresighter but have seen a bsa multi boresight kit that lists 6.5. The Bass pro near me does it for free

All you need is one with the same basic diameter, so a 6 PPC would work fine if you can find one, even a 7.62x39 would work, I bet.

I've got the AK one ( 7.62x39 )... but i dont think it will go all the way into a Grendel chamber cause the 7.62 neck is bigger than the 6.5 neck... i had already thought of that....

That makes sense. I didn't realize that the necks were that large. I don't use them, so I just assumed it was the case itself that centered the laser.

Ok, I'm kidding. I know there are lasers that are not meant to be inserted into the bore, but rather plugged into the end of the barrel. You would have to wrap it with something to bring the case up to the correct size, but if it shines down the barrel and out, you've got it!
You could also cut a piece of Grendel brass off, then fit the 223 laser in it.

I have one and they aren't worth the money. It is easier and more precise to boresight using the eye. They work like the Army laser bore sight devices for small arms. You have to put the carbine into a very secure rest, insert the laser using the right size spud, and once in and turned on you have to adjust the beam to the center of the target via four very small set screws arrayed around the end of the laser. Then you turn the device 1/4 turn and adjust again. And so on until you can rotate the laser without the beam moving on the target. It takes about a half hour if you have really locked the carbine into a vice that will not move when you rotate the laser.
The plus side to that particular model is that mine came with a reflective target so even in moderate sun, you could get a bounce to about 25 meters. The downside was that the beam is pretty big at that distance. And since guys use the 68 sight, it is pretty much useless.

My Aimshot Laser Boresight 7.62x39 arbor I have works fine for the 6.5 Grendel, as well as my Dad's 220 Swift.
Just a thought. I sight mine in the basement, from one end to the other (50 ft.) in dim light. Gets me on paper. Hard to see at the 25 yard target box at the range, in daylight, even with a piece of reflective road sign I got from the dumpster at the public works sign shop. Mine's old, but I read that there are newer ones with a more powerful laser module.

When we got the borelights, we were specifically warned not to laminate our offset targets, since eye-damage had occurred with other units that did this, as we were required to keep the borelight targets with us in the field, with offsets for all configurations of M4's, M4/203's, SAW's, and 240's. I had zero faith in the system, but as I was running a night range, my soldiers took my M4 and bore-sighted my new PEQ-2 for me. I took it onto the range and started dropping 200m targets at night, aiming with the beam while looking through my PVS-14's, with the weapon firmly tucked at the hip...I was sold.
That is the kit with the different mandrels that you insert into the muzzle, then rotate and adjust the laser until it turns on itself. Then you place the laser on the bore dot, and adjust your Aimpoint and PEQ onto the offset dots at 10m. The made us deploy with the weapon vices as well, which were COTS purchased.

I can see why you dislike the laser bore-sight.
The one I use employs a screw-adjustable collet to keep the aft more or less centered. The front end is tapered so that it can be tapered by ensuring the whole device is deep enough in the muzzle. One still needs to exercise some care and double check by rotating the device in the muzzle to verify centering.
With the desired trajectory known for the 15-25 foot ranges one can find in a kitchen, living room, or workshop, one can then offset the aim point from the spot by the appropriate distance.
My experience with them versus looking through the bore? Looking through the bore usually got me within 6" at 25 yards. The bore-sight laser generally cuts that down by 1/2 to 1/3 or better.
My earlier years of shooting were with rifles with whippy, asymetric barrels and large caliber cartridges, so getting the bullet go where the bore was pointed was not allways assured, so 2-3" or better at 25 yards floats my boat!
