Are you suggesting that the short throated "Grendel II" will hold up to the same proof testing that AA performed? What about bolt life?
Edit: Perhaps "Wildcat" is the wrong term...substitute variant if you like. My point is short throating in particular nullifies the safety testing done on the original cartridge. Just read some of the ridiculous velocities and standard deviations those with the "improved" chamber were getting.
Without AA's quality control of the pre-SAAMI Grendel, and without the SAAMI specifications, there is no guarantee of what you are getting in one of the variant chambers.
(...and yes, I understand that there will be some mfg issues that would cause even a SAAMI chamber to be outside of specification...)
