6.5 Grendel II ~vs~ regular grendel.....?

Well I hope to help everyone here in the near future and share all the facts as I understand them from my experience. I talked with the folks at Satern yesterday and ordered 2 cut rifled barrels that are in stock. A 16" with a Saami spec Grendel chamber and a 19" Grendel II barrel. I'm guessing the 16" was extra from a previous run as these were the only barrel available with the Grendel chamber, which is fine with me.. I think all AR's should wear short barrels. The longer barrel will become a paper puncher. She also said the G II barrels are identical to the Grendel chamber except for having the compound throat removed which allows for the barrel to more readily handle a variety of factory ammunition and hand loads with different bullets. I was told they will ream them either way if you custom order them. I don't have agendas either way, pictures when I get them.
