What about using the smaller pills and pushing them faster? AA claims some impressive numbers using the 108 Scenars. But they can also be had in the 123 grain version which IMO seems to be a good medium for the Grendel. The guys I shoot with prefer the bigger pills loaded right off the lands but they're using 6.5x284's loaded one at a time. I don't have that luxury lol

The 108 is a great choice and the one that I am currently using. Readily available, cheap and good bc. I have loaded test samples up for 4 other guns and all the guns liked close to the same powder charge, although seating depth varied but .010. All of them are between 29.5-29.8 grains, barrels range from 18.5 to 24. Pick some up from Brunos and run with them, you will not be disappointed.

Will do! Does anyone have any tips/ tricks for gun control when shooting at these distances? I noticed alot of jump and very little lateral movement when I was shooting Saturday. Perhaps this is poor posture?

UPDATE!

Went down to another NBRSA match this past weekend. Best group of the day was 5 shots measured at 7 15/16ths of an inch. Still using Hornaday 123's!

Thats a great group for the Grendel man. Keep up the good work. I plan on trying some 1000 as well at one of my local ranges. I shoot nothing but the hornady 123s as well.

That is pretty impressive, actually. An 8" group at 1000yds with 123gr AMAX. What was the dispersion like? Any pics? What were the wind conditions, and were you holding the same POA throughout that group?

Very nice! Your rifle is pimp, by the way. I wonder what you can do with hand loads. There is a new bullet from Lapua that I have samples of, the 120gr 6.5mm Lapua Scenar-L, which is constructed with a totally different manufacturing method to ensure perfect concentricity. They are getting 8rd groups into .3 MOA at 300m with two different test rifles.

The group was done using the same POA. I'll post a picture when I get home. Trust me, my grouping was all over the place that day. However, the winds died almost completely and everyone siezed the opportunity on the last session of light gun for the day. I was having one hell of a time the winds all day. Shortly after this group, halfway through heavy gun my scope decided it didnt want to sit atop my rifle anymore and found its way into the dirt. I managed to re-attatch it for the last session of heavy gun but with only one sighter shot my group was all low. I'll be back next month with hopefully some better consistancy. The bow can do it, but the indian needs to work on his technique haha.

Has anyone had problems using Hahn risers? I just had to retire my Vltor upper because the set screws in the riser started to puss through the low points in the rail on the upper and make contact with charging handle. Vltor says they will NOT warranty this because it is, "not what the upper was intended for." Good news though, I'm building a plinker and the Vltor unit will look nice on it. Just got a Mega heavy duty billet upper yesterday and screwed everything together. As I type I've got cases in the tumbler for next month! The only problem is I've got Speers loading manual #14 and they don't have any loading data for the Grendel . Anyone have a chart they'd like to share? Or some input?
