Thanks for the tip on benchmark, with 26.6gr and 123sst I’m getting 3/4” ten shot groups with low sd. 2410fps 20” barrel

Benchmark is awesome, but has basically been unobtanium for 2yr+

Been happy with PPV and 120 grain Gold Dots. 2380 from a 16 inch barrel.
Brass is kinda hot though. I don't know if it is good or bad, and no one has ever told nme. Sub MOA to 500 yards, and that is all I have to shoot to.
I prefer to keep things under 300.

My Howa 1500 6.5 G really likes 120 SMK and 26.3 grains Benchmark, between 0.6 and0.4 MOA if I do a good job shooting the cartridges. Same rifle also does similar groups with 120 SMK and 24.0gr of N530

I have one and love it when I can get it to work right. Getting it lined up correctly can be a pain.

I have that, and it will activate. Just having an issue getting it lined up right. I got a new thing to help but waiting on cooler weather to shoot. No point in shooting at 100 degrees and being miserable when I want it to perform at 20-75 degrees.

I just got one, finally! On my 4th LabRadar and I still hate the GD thing. However, it’s the best unit there is out there for what I do. Seems like I spend more time reconnecting the Bluetooth to my iPhone, than using it! :mad:

The dirty little secret with using the RAT on a bolt gun is, now It records “ghost shots” just from running the bolt! No matter which “trigger level” I’ve tried! So now I lose even more time having to go back and cull through each string to get an accurate average!

The problem with the Magnetospeed is, it “can” affect group size. On an MTU contour, probably not so much. Put it on my CZ American 23.5” Sporter and I can barely keep it on the paper! So, it has its own issues too!

The RAT seems to work better on heavier bolt guns. The heavier the better probably! The F-Class guys I see at the range don’t seem to have this problem with their competition guns. At least not the same degree I am. The majority of mine are lightweight hunting rifles.

To be fair, the RAT did up my capture rate to almost 100%. So, it was huge improvement but, it also created more work for me having to weed out the ghost shots. So it’s almost a wash. And RAT did absolutely nothing for the crappy Bluetooth interface! :mad:

Well, just got of the horn with LabRadar! Think I woke the guy up? Anyway very helpful, and told me a few thing I didn’t know!

They don’t the sell a motion trigger because of the same issue I’ve been having. This is the kicker though, when he tested a couple of the Motion triggers side by side with another unit without it, there would sometimes be a speed difference of up to 30 FPS between units for the same shot! Not good!

Also, when using the LabRadar around other units, you should all be at least 3 channels apart from each other, to minimize any interference.

And, once you get above 3900 FPS (I shoot some 55-58 243/6CM) it can experience tracking issues.

For regular use, he recommended to always start/use trigger level 1 and 12” offset.

He also claimed the latest software will improve Bluetooth problem. Yeah, right!

I bought a Labradar a year or so after they released. It gave me so many problems I sent it back to Brownells after a month for a refund and bought a Prochrono with bluetooth. I use a boresight and a tape measure to set it up, takes less than 5 minutes of cold range time. If I need a quick spot check I keep a magentospeed sporter in the range bag.

It’s my understanding, the unit is manufactured in Quebec and then distributed worldwide by Independent Solutions, of Wichita KS.

Independent Solutions also happens to be the North American service center and tech support center. I called and spoke with some one at Independent Solutions.

That makes sense, and you're likely dealing with Tom Mouser. Over the years he's the one guy who answers all my efforts to contact Labradar. He's very pro selling his products, quick to downplay any concerns, and is not an engineer.

No, I don’t think so! I believe I have spoken with Mouser before, several times, I recognize your description of him! Mouser, to me, sounds like he’s in his 50’ or 60’s. The guy I spoke with yesterday was much younger, like still in his 20’s, and.……..more helpful.

My second unit was on back order and came directly from the factory in Quebec. The package arrived in pristine condition, no shipping damage at all. Fired up the unit and it didn’t work! It would power up but, wouldn’t record a shot, from anything! None! Right from the GD factory, doesn’t work! I spoke to Mouser then and a few other times since then and he was/is always quick to try and deflect and act like it was no big deal. And of course, for him, it wasn’t! :mad:
