Anyone have a problem with a new charging handle being tight in a new receiver?
I switched the new charging handle in an old receiver and put the new handle in the old receiver and it seems fine.
Maybe the handle is a bit bent or something.
I took a few measurements and the old and new handles were the same within a few thousandths at the anterior end.
I put a new receiver on the 24" Radical Firearms 6.5 Grendel barrel I bought from a member here.
I put a toothpick in the gas block to hold the gas tube until I get around to pushing the roll pin in.
I can't forget to do that or I might have problems.

Is the new charging handle dragging on the top of the lower receiver in front of the butt stock. Not sure if the new charging handle is a little thicker or a little tighter fit between new upper and lower compared to the old lower. If the charging handle is dragging on top of the new lower receiver it’ll probably wear in.

I was just trying the fit of bolt and charging handle so it was only the upper receiver not mounted on a lower.
I had to push really hard to get it all the way in. I lubed it with Rem oil and it only made it slightly easier.
Maybe I'm getting too old.
Sorry, the thought just occured to me it sounded like a different subject.
Like I said, each slid better in another receiver so I will just leave it at that.
Not sure if that has a different meaning.

Could be the top pad may be a bit thick for that particular receiver or the CH may have a little too much anodizing so looking for wear marks would be key and should show themselves pretty quickly. On one CH I have, I took OOOO steel wool and oil to it to smooth it out a touch which seemed to help considerable in smoothing it up without compromising the finish.

Is there any kind of additional coatings - cerrocoat or ? Some of these are additive processes which will narrow the slot that the charger slides thru. It doesn't change it by much but can be just enough. I got some uppers that were coated and the bolt carrier was a tight fit.

I was surprised how loose the new charging handle was in the older receiver.
I just thought it odd that it would be so tight in the new one.
