Where has the grendel been all my life?!

So I took out my new grendel yesterday. WOW!!! This is an amazing round. I sited it in and once I got used to it, I was shooting one jagged hole at 100 yards. Good hearing protection is definitely a must! I am very impressed, thank god I went this route instead of the 6.8.

What barrel length and type of rifle/carbine did you get. I too am very satisfied with the 6.5 Grendel cartridge, versatile and pleasant to shoot.

I went with pretty basic build, nothing too fancy to start with.

Shillen Barrel with Gill Brake

Hornady 123 Gr. A-Max

I will work on some pictures, but so far I am totally impressed. But damn this thing is loud.

That is really great news!! I had read your other thread about barrel break in did you do any thing with this barrel or did you just take her out and shoot it? I can hardly wait to be able to complete my build and see how shee shoots. What are you using for sights? AND some pictures would be nice.

I did not do anything for break in. I just took it out and shot it. Swabbed the barrel every few rounds or so, just to make sure I was getting a consistent shot. I was pretty skeptical about getting a muzzle break. I have never had one before, so I figured what the heck. It is amazing the difference it makes. I did some shooting with it on, then took it off and did some more shooting. It is pretty amazing the difference.

Here is a picture of the beast itself. The target was turned to mush due to torrential down pours last night. I will have another trip to the range shortly.
