I have two methods of shooting of solid and semi solid portable shooting platforms. This is my 404 Jeffery at full noise of my serious testing bench.





From these plans, although I made mine right handed by leaving off the right side cut-out.

For less fromal times and when I may want to move about I use my "trolly". The wheels can extend to give it stability when 'towing' it over uneven ground.Made them retractable for compact storage in the back of the vehicle and the gun room.

Michigan prohibits fireing from a vehicle also, sux I can shoot from road but i cant use my vehicle for a rest.

I built a bench very similar to yours Von, my legs aren't angled as much as yours though. I like your angle even better.

That trolley is slick! I got to make me one now. Like the suppressor too. I wish they were as easy to get over here are they are for you.

Think of sitting on a chair with the back as the rest to get the best height and width for you own needs. By hooking a thumb arround the upright and elbows on knees I can get resonably settled. The wheels are set so that when it is in the shooting position the wheels are just off the ground.

The supressor has made an enormous difference to the number of undisturbed animals on a days hunting. It makes taking multiple animals much easier. About $US280 for that model but hope to get a Ti one next time for greatly reduced weight on the end of the barrel.

I'm waiting on my paperwork to come back so I can build a supressor for my Grendel. I've had a .223 can for several years and it makes a world of difference when varmint hunting, not to mention my ears appreciate it too. Texas just passed a modification to the regulations allowing the use of suppressors on game animals. It takes effect in September.

Fortunately there is a favourable aproach to supressors here with them freely available over the counter. This is where I got mine http://www.gunworks.co.nz/news/?page_id=266 and when I said I would look at a Ti one in my previous post, I was working from a slipshod memory. It is Duralium that they use for the lighter weight mountain stalking rifles, but haveing re-apraised the list I see the standard lightweight will be about the same as the Duralium unit, that is about 12 oz which is what my 20VT unit weighs.
