Make sure that you don't use that in California. A trailer or other shooting platform need to be disconnected from the vehicle in order to be legal.

Thanx! It is going to be very handy. When disassembled, it is very compact and takes up very little room in my Sammy!

I am not sure about the paper/steel. I know that some guys have been ticketed for shooting varmints off their shooting trailer without having it disconnected from the tow vehicle. It falls under the same law as shooting from the back of a pickup truck. Anything that is attached to the vehicle becomes part of the vehicle in California. It probable falls under discharging a weapon from a vehicle and makes no difference if it is hunting or target shooting. I just mentioned it because I saw that you were in Southern Oregon and there are a lot of guys that come South to shoot ground squirrels during the outbreak each year.

What do you expect? It didn't earn the name commiefornia for nothing. You can get tagged for pretty much the same thing here in some situations. There were some guys here locally several years back that thought it would be a good idea to dove hunt from a boom lift. Although it wasn't a vehicle for the purpose of transportation, it's still considered a motor vehicle. They got the book thrown at them and the rental company almost lost their lift.

I "hunt" from a Jeep all the time on private property. Nothing against that except for migratory birds which I believe is a federal reg. This is the summary from the reg.- "Animals and game birds not classified as migratory may be hunted from a motor vehicle, powerboat, sailboat, or from any other floating device within the boundaries of private property or upon private water"

We have somewhat similar game regs here. It prohibits firing from a conveyance, and is actually aimed at "road hunters".

It is prohibited to:
"get out of a motor vehicle along a public road and shoot a bow or firearm unless you are at least 25 yards from the vehicle."
Or
"Hunt or shoot at wild animals or birds from an airborne conveyance, from a vehicle or other land conveyance, from a motor-driven water conveyance, or from or across a public road, unless specifically authorized to do so by law or regulation. You may shoot from a motorized watercraft if the motor has been completely shut off and its progress from the motor has ceased."

Here is mine, bought the folding legs from lowes, and cut out and stained the top after the pic, and cut a carry handle into it.

Nice work gents. Maybe put skiis on the bottom of the legs to prevent sinking in the mud or snow.
