I purchased a PSA pistol lower and a 12" PSA upper... My intent is to start whacking whitetails with this set-up. So far, from what I've read, the 6.5G is the go to AR-15 cartridge for my needs. My AR-10 in .308 is a pig. I wanted a rifle that is portable, accurate, and deer worthy out to 300yds... thus 6.5G

Have looked at this forum for a year until I jumped in, have been intrigued by this little cartridge for a few years now. Previously have only hunted deer in ag fields in NE Arkansas using flat shooting bolts, primary being 270 Win and 257 Weatherby. Well finally moved home to NW Arkansas God's country and bought 70 acres out in the mountains and now doing only woods/mountain hunting. My 270 works fine but have been carrying my AR 5.56 hiking the hills due to weight and wanted something more substantial than the 62 grain Fusions to anchor better. (Still haven't shot a deer with a 223/5.56, just don't want to track one far.)

So here I am, 4 rounds in and soaking up every piece of info I can and I'm a believer. Y'all have a great site here with a wealth of information.

Only question I do have for anyone out there is regarding LH parts availability, vendors that offer LH specific products, etc. pertaining specifically to lefty AR-15 platform in 6.5 Grendel. I had to find a left hand BCG and it was a little difficult. Ended up buying one for $140 from Pro2A in Georgia. Fit/finish looks decent and their customer service was great as a small business. Pretty impressed with Precision Firearms offerings after looking at their website--anyone know if they chamber barrels in lefty config?

I worked 3 years in Defence Contracting after leaving the Army, then i worked for the European Space Agency for 8 years before starting my own Gunsmith business. Currently own a factory with 14 staff producing mostly suppressors but also some accessories and rifles. Based in North West Germany.

I own 2x 6.5 Grendels, both self built AR15's and i just started hand loading for them (and for a 350 Legend), I hope to gain knowledge of others experience and tips on the reloading front.

We have to achieve 2000 Joules (1475.1 Ft Lbs) energy at 100m here with a caliber of 6.5mm or larger to legally use on wild boar and larger deer. so i'm looking to tickle that out of the Grendel with and 18" barrel if i can.

Anyhow, glad to have found this forum and found it very interesting and valuable so far.

Placed an order, and am currently waiting for everything to arrive. My hope is to get at least 100rnds down the tube before starting to work up a load with Hornady SST bullets, probably over H335 since I have that in hand. Will also plan to spend the spring and summer months at the range practicing.
