Not sure if this is the right plase to post this but. Shot my Grendel today for the first time an all the empty brass has a flat spot on the case mouth. Al were factory Hornady 123. Brand new gun. Sun Devil upper/lower with adjustable gas key Walther barrel. Not sure what could be causing this. Maybe slapping reciever on ejection??

Shorten the ejector spring by about 1/10th of an inch, it's a bandaid solution but it works, and its cheap. You can also try applying the fuzzy side of Velcro tape to the deflector, even cheaper yet

I think it's hitting somrthing before the deflector. Each case has the same flat spot. I'm sure it will come out on resizing. It's about 1/5th of the diameter of the case. Maybe I should up the gas a little. Cases land about 3 feet back on the the ground. Bolt does lock open on last shot though.

Since you have an adjustable gas system, I would give it a little more gas. Less buffer spring like mentioned above could do it as well. An over gassed system usually ejects forward of 90 degrees of the ejection port which is what I am currently getting with mine, and will be replacing the buffer spring with a stronger one or replacing the gas block with an adjustable one.

They were landing right at 3:00 about 2-3 feet out. I'm sure that they will run through the die allright just haven't seen that before.

Keep shooting it, you'll see some brass coloring on your deflector like this

Most likely hitting shell deflector. Common problem. Shorten your ejector spring a coil

It is hitting the deflector. Thanks guys for the info. What a great gun. Shot a 1.75" group at 200 with factory Hornady 123 Amax Match. Hope I can get my reloads to do that.

I had the same problem long ago, easy fix, cut a piece of sticky back Velcro and stick it on the deflector, vo-la, fixed.. Chas
