Teresa “Nini” Perdue Starnes Passed away this weekend (Owner of J&T Distributing)

Teresa “Nini” Perdue Starnes, 59, of Winchester went to be with The Lord on March 14, 2014. She was born to the late Mary Nickell and Jesse Perdue in Maysville, Ky on April 26, 1954. She graduated high school from George Rogers Clark in 1974 and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1980. She married Jack Starnes on February 10, 1973.

She was a teacher in the Clark County School System spanning 15 years, finishing her career at Conkwright Middle School in 1994. Together with her husband Jack, son Jesse, and daughter-in-law Stacy, Teresa helped build DoubleStar/J&T Distributing from a “mom and pop” business to an international provider of AR-15 style rifles and accessories to the military, law enforcement, and commercial markets.

Teresa leaves behind family and friends who loved her dearly. She was a true friend and mom to all. Our hearts are filled with sorrow. We will always treasure memories of her. Teresa was a member of Red House Holiness Church.

Teresa was a generous supporter of many organizations including Model Laboratory MPO, Hunt of a Lifetime, Paws and Stripes, Clark County Homeless Coalition, Special Olympics, Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival, Run for the Glitz, various state and local law enforcement agencies, numerous organizations that provide support for active U.S. Armed Forces and Veterans, and was a founding board member of the NFATCA.

I met with her and her son at SHOT last year for a business meeting, and she was a very nice and kind woman. Good people, with great products at affordable prices.
