Got my Grendel put together a few weeks ago. This is the first time I have assembled an upper. Took my son out this weekend for youth rifle and he shoots a 17pt buck. Not a big buck, but he has 17 points. He took the shot at 107 yards with a 123 A-max. He placed it right behind the shoulder and the deer went about 20 yards and fell over. A memory for a lifetime thats for sure.

I just joined this forum today, and I'm leaving for a High Sierra deer hunt on Friday, can't wait to try my luck with my Grendel. I doubt I'll have such a nice photo to post, but wish me luck!

Congratulations, very nice buck, great memories. I hunted with my great grandfather, grandfather, dad, and now my four sons. I cherish memories with my family. I'm sure this is one for your son to cherish as well as you.

Thanks everyone. He has a twin brother that now we have to get a buck for. I am fortunate to have a place 2 miles from house that has great deer. Here is one I shot last year with my bow.

I'm planning on hunting this weekend with the 123 Amax round, too....looks like it will work just fine until I can work up a nice hand load with a dedicated hunting bullet.
