Still waiting on AA upper so been thinking (usually ends with more spending) The Mossberg MVP would make a great Grendel donar already uses ar style mags and depending on which model you can get a sporter stock or bench rest stock. I checked my distributors none avalible right now. But dose anybody have one to check to see of the bolt face is large enough? Had three models in my hands at a dealer show in January just didn't think of it then. What's your thoughts?

I'd love to have them chamber the MVP in Grendel. The reports I've heard back on the .223 have all been very good. The bolt face as currently configured won't handle the Grendel, though.

But is the bolt face big enough to be opened up to handle the Grendel ?

Great question. I don't know that answer. I would prefer a bolt designed for the Grendel.

Ditto. I'd rather Mossberg came up with an appropriate bolt face first. The "drop push lever" will probably have an affect on what is safe or not, and I have no idea how that will influence everything.

I'm not sure what the current picture linking policies are, but I did give attribution. If I erred just let me know and I'll delete the photo link, or you can nuke it too.
I would *think* the push feed lever could have the material relieved to accomodate the rim, but the ejector location might be an issue if the lever doesn't cam-up a ramp in quick succesion of stripping a round. Certainly, the right bolt would be the way to go.

I'm no gunsmith but I have done some tinkering...
The ejector on that Mossberg might be in an awkward position but it looks to me like there is plenty of meat to open the face up. I love the fact it uses AR mags.
