I'm looking at ordering the Grendel handbooks. I see a lot of references to these dating back quite a few years. Have they been updated with some of the new powders introduced since these handbooks were first published? I'm new to reloading and don't want to stray too far from safe published loading information.

Yes, Volume I is on its 4th Printing and Volume II is on the 2nd Printing, both of which have been updated over the years.

Volume II 2nd Print was updated with 129gr Nosler ABLR and 95gr Lehigh Controlled Chaos, in addition to the roughly 300+ loads that already existed in the previous printings.

For me with any cartridge that I load a lot of, I source every possible reloading handbook and data set I can get my hands on.

I have 4 of the Hornady manuals, regularly reference Nosler online (for other cartridges mostly), Hodgdon’s, Vihtavuori, Sierra, Barnes, and sometimes Speer.

But the 6.5 Grendel Handbooks are far more than just reloading manuals. They have chamber types and dimensions, AR-15 barrel length and gas system configuration considerations, history, barrel length and velocity charts, effective hunting ranges, terminal ballistics with many hunting bullets shot through ballistics gel across the velocity impact spectrum, matching bullets to game, and pages for shooter’s notes on their own load data.





They are laid out with Wire-O binding, so when you’re open to the pages, the handbooks lie flat on your desk or bench, unlike most other books.

The handbooks arrived today. I took a quick browse, and all I can say is WOW. The depth and breadth of information in these makes them an unbelievable bargain. Now I have something to read tonite, instead watching Baywatch re-runs or infomercials. (I'm a night shift worker and stay on the same sleep schedule on my days off.)

I completely agree, the load data is comprehensive and I love the ring binder on the volumes, it really makes it easy to reference.
