Indianapolis City Council Attempts to Enact Gun Control
In a blatant attempt to violate preemption, the Indianapolis City Council has advanced an “unenforceable” gun control package. The ordinance raises the age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21, ends constitutional carry, and bans many common semi-automatic firearms. In 2011, NRA worked with the General Assembly to pass a preemption law preventing localities from passing and enforcing gun control. The council has admitted that this proposal cannot take effect as long as preemption is still the law in Indiana.

The legislation is set to receive a vote by the City-County Council on July 10th.

I wondered when the lefty's in Indianapolis would try and ban guns. Michael Bloomberg will be buying off the Republican state politicians to get them to get rid of the state preemption law, which stops this dead in its tracks, that was passed in 2011. Indiana does have a red-flag law that Pence got passed when he was our governor.

Last night, the Indianapolis City-County Council passed a proposed gun control measure by a vote of 18 to 5. Rather than addressing crime and prosecuting criminals, Democrat Mayor Hogsett and the City-County Council are focused on disarming law-abiding citizens and attempting to violate preemption with a gun control package that they admit is “unenforceable.” The ordinance discriminates against young adults aged 18-20 by prohibiting them from buying firearms, ends constitutional carry, and bans many common semi-automatic firearms. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't start arresting people in Marion County for violating this law. The left doesn't pass stupid laws unless they plan on using them. Would bet there is an activist judge waiting in the wings to approve it for when they get sued for arresting someone using this law. My guess is that they are going to contest the preemption law that was just passed in court. Would love to know where the money came from to buy off those Marion County turds.
