He took a nice buck this morning with his Grendel. It was the first deer for us with that rifle/caliber, so I was very interested in how the 123 gr SST did. And it did just fine, causing the biggest blood trail Ive seen in a very long time. It wasnt a long tracking effort, being maybe 25 yards. We are pleased

excellent, just keep whacking & stackin, you've got the right tool for the job, no fat
 you punch middle of lungs broadside they tend to get some runners, you crowd the shoulders or spine and they fold up on the spot, you hit big bones and you've got a big ole mess on your hands lol, I was able to get 3 into my moose although the first was lethal I shot till he dropped, 4-6" of femur gone with second as I was free handing through bunch of trees, then 3rd took antler off with a chunk of skull plate (off a bull moose!) so yeah, you've got more than enough hp, you'll look down at animals at times depending on hit and then look at that little cartridge in your hand and it won't make sense lol, you'll see the same thing as if you were holding a 270
No pics did not happen! Just kidding and you know it. Congrats to the Grandson and you Sir, I know you would rather see him kill a good buck than yourself.
Hopefully the wife will get one in the next couple days with the Grendel. Have her shooting some 129gr LRABs

Yep, I usually save the bucks for the grandson. I just shoot a doe or two for the freezer. But
there is one really nice buck making the rounds, and I hoped the grandson would see him. I havent laid eyes on the big fellow since the day BEFORE the season started. Seriously. Since then, just night camera shots. The good news is that hes great breeding stock for future bucks.
