Hey all,

I just stumbled in here while doing some research for another build. Great info here and seems like a good group. Thanks for having me.

I’m in the Midwest, so deer are plentiful. My current deer rifle is a 18” 6.5g criterion barrel with a 4.5-18 bushnell lrhs. Great for the stand but not so much for brush. So my next build will be a 16” with a 1-6 or 1-8 on top.

The 6.5 has spoiled me now that I don’t have to lug an ar-10 through the timber. Thanks in advance for sharing knowledge.

I’ve been a big fan of the AR-10 since the 1980s and always thought a 7.62 “CAR-15” (misnomer) would be the solution to all of my desires.

6.5 Grendel ruined that for me. I’ve owned at least 6 different AR-10s over the years, including 2 different .260 Remingtons.
