Is this the " these extractors have four of my five improvements, so they're better than the previous version, but they're still not the ultimate. " extractors, or are they the final finished "dream" extractor?
I just got my "improved" extractors today in the mail, ordered Friday evening, record time for USPS from MN to Chicagoland. Just installed them in my Ultrabolt bodies, hopefully I'll have time and weather cooperates this weekend to shoot them!

Got mine today as well. Yes, this has to be a record time delivery for USPS. Totally surprised to see them in my mailbox this morning. Thanks BFT for getting them in the mail ASAP.

Say if anyone has chance to run this extractor with converted 7.62x39 casings, please post an update on how well they work. With Grendel, the extractor is probably the single weakest link, so seeing an improvement like this is kind of a big deal! But a good bit of my brass is recovered 7.62x39, and I'd love to see a confirmation if it works as well on that.
LE, the rim thickness of 7.62x39 is about the same as 65G, so there's no reason the Improved Extractor shouldn't work. I would have been more worried about the case diameter fitting into the Ultrabolt boltface, but it seems that's not an issue, either. See photo.
Can't say that I've fired Grendelized 7.62x39 brass, but at least a dry test shows it fits.

Not all 7.62x39 brass will fit in the Grendel bolt, ultra or standard. Their rims are too wide. I have a mixed head stamp bunch of x39 brass I intend to fire form & then use as functioning dummies after resizing. Their rim diameters ran anywhere from .439" to .445". Any rims over .441" would not fit in Grendel bolts. The cases with rims over .441" were chucked in a mini lathe & trimmed to .440".

OB, I can't speak to how G-762x39 cases would FUNCTION in my Ultrabolt with an ejector putting additional forces on the available space, but the sample I showed above FITS with a rim diameter of .444.

Just ordered three of those exactors to go on the "hybrid" enhanced bolts I bought earlier this year. Their extractors, which I'm sure are fine, will become my first-string spares.
