I was out coyote hunting and stumbled upon this skunk that caught me off guard, as we dont normally see skunks out this time of year. Im not sure why he/she (I didnt investigate the matter!) was out and about but I put a stop to it! The hand loaded Speer TNT did its job and took care of business at the not so long distance of 40 yards. Note to self, pay attention to wind direction when shooting skunks! ????

Just curious, where abouts are you? We see plenty of skunks all year long.

Michigan. They normally pseudo hibernate also known as torpor during the winter months. We dont normally start seeing them out and about until mid March when it starts warming up some.

If you shoot them from behind at the base of the skull they normally will not spray. I do this all the time when they are trapped. I still do it from upwind so incase they spray.
