Just wanted to say hello to everyone. New here and to the Grendel. I shoot a 20" Grendel Hunter. Looking forward to learning and hopefully eventually contributing something useful.
Located in Upstate ny and just getting back into hunting after a 10 year hiatus. Decided to try and do something about the local coyote population.

Welcome to the forum CMS829. The 6.5 Grendel is not known as a fur friendly cartridge but my 6.5 Grendel rifles were accurate with lighter bullets. Sierra discontinued their 85 grain Varminter bullets but have them on sale on their web site for $24.35 per box of 100 with free shipping and no sales tax. I ordered four boxes for me and four for a friend yesterday. With shortage of ammo and components it is difficult to find 90 grain TNT, 90 grain Varmageddon or 95 V-Max.
I havent water tested the 90 Nosler Varmageddon bullet but the 85 grain SV, 90 grain TNT and 95 grain V-Max all stopped in the third water filled gallon jug at 50 yards. All three bullets fragmented but there were smaller pieces of the Sierra Varminter compared to the V-Max.
From DNS hog hunting videos the Nosler 90 grain Varmageddon bullet tended to fragment more than the 90 grain TNT Federal factory ammo.

Thanks for the info and for the heads up on the Sierra. Think I'll buy a box or two. As I've got brass. Maybe One day I'll be able to find primers and powder. lol.
And yea, I am finding that it isnt very fur friendly. lol. However I do have 3 boxes of the 90 Gr FB tipped varmageddon on the way (traded for it, cant find it in stock obviously). So I am hoping that will help a little. lol
