Is the Grendel a “PPU” case?

Looking at a Remington 783 to convert to a custom Grendel and see PTG has a “PPU” bolt head available here: https://pacifictoolandgauge.com/1476-rem...ad-ppc_cal

I was wondering if this would work since in my limited search, I haven’t confirmed that the Grendel is a PPU case. Thanks for any help.

was that PPC and not PPU? if PPC, yes. PPU is a European ammo maker. Privi Partizan if my spelling is correct.

Yup. He meant PPC and NOT PPU. I believe the Grendel case is a PPC based round to answer your question. Please chime in if I'm wrong.

Haha, uhhhhh, yeah. Don’t know how or why I typed PPU and not PPC. But yes, PPC is what I meant. I am hopeful that the PPC bolt head could/would work for a custom Grendel.

PTG PPC bolt heads have an inside diameter of .447". Yup, the Grendel cartridge will fit...

The chart is for Model 7/Model 600 rifle bolts but I'm pretty sure the diameter for the 783 bolt head will be the same.

The 6.5 Grendel uses a variant of the 6mm PPC case. Arne Brennan sometimes called the non-SAAMI "match" variation of the Grendel the 6.5 PPCX. "X" stands for extended, since the shoulder of the Grendel is extended farther foreword than the PPC. The PPC has relatively longer neck. The 6mm PPCX, 6mmAR, and 6 Grendel are all similar cartridges developed from the extended-shoulder PPC/Grendel case. The 6mm ARC uses a shoulder length that is in between the PPC and the Grendel.

In short. Yes OP the grendel case and all grendel cased based Wildcats will use the PPC bolt that is made by that company.
