ruger 6.5 gren very hard to feed

I just received my Ruger American 6.5 gren with 16" barrel had a very hard time getting it to feed a round from the clip into the rifle, tried several different Mags all with the same results, removed and polished the bolt but it still seems to bind when cycling, the mags seem to have quite a bit of play or slop but no matter where you place them the results are the same, tried shimming them no help, I own several Ruger American and have never had this problem any help would be appreciated

Look in the bolt action section on this fourm. You will find bout 100 diffrent threads about this problem with the ruger and somethings guys did to try and fix the issue with their rifles.

ASC 10rd mags work great in mine. But there is some guys who’ll say you need to cut a coil or 2 off the mag spring.
