6.5 G Exempt from Md. AWB?

Am I reading things correctly. Under the Maryland Statute, 6.5 Grendel is exempted from AWB provisions since it fails the "copy cat" test? We are watching here in Virginia to see what happens. I can't see our state passing anything stronger than Md or NY state. But it's hard to tell.

i wanted a heavy barrel on mine and ordered one

also there is no definition of heavy barrel, other the marketed and sold as such
so technically any barrel stamped heavy is legal in any caliber
