Two Bucks In Two Days

Haven't posted on here in quite a while but these are my first two deer with the Grendel. 123g SST's, first one at about 200 yards, second around 220. Both DRT. First one had a deformed antler and second one a very bad limp so both were good candidates to cull from the herd. Overall very impressed with what the little round can do.

Congrats on 2 good bucks, from the pictures they look like good body sized. Bigger than I see most of the time in Mississippi or Texas. I you do not mind what a part of the country and weight are those bucks?

Thanks guys. I'm in northern Minnesota so yeah, deer get a little bigger up here. Haven't weighed these two but they're both pretty good sized, especially the second one. I would guess somewhere in the lower 200's dressed.

I'm in Idaho, and we can typically only harvest one deer/year. The exceptions being a second tag for a white tailed doe in limited areas/weapon restrictions, or the added expense of purchasing a second non-resident tag $$.
Nice work! We don't get to shoot nearly as many deer as in other states, but we do have Elk. One of those will net as much meat in the freezer as 3+ deer. |
