I owned (2) BCA 24 Grendel uppers.One SS,one nitrite.Ss one shoots well.The Nitite upper did not,was rebarreled by BCA twice.This time they sent me a SS one.
Tired of wasting ammo gambling on BCA barrels!I sold the new/rebarreled upper to a gun store acquaintance for $200.I had under $250 total into it.
BCA served its purpose for me.I wanted to be sure I liked the caliber before I spent more $.I am ready to build a shooter.I will be using it out to 600 yrds.I reload and shoot for accuracy.
Decided on a 20 Match barrel.Been patiently looking on the Internet for months now.Cash is not a factor.Id spend up to a reasonable amount($800?).
I have a lower and the Nikon black 4-16x5 scope that was with the BCA upper.And I have complete uppers .So,all I need is a match barrel,head spaced bolt ,gas block and tube.
Some of the barrels did not come in 20.In consideration are,a JP supermatch 18 match barrel/bolt kit($550).Criterion 18hybrid barrel($325)Wilson Combat 20 tactical match barrel($300).
Then I looked at Lija and Krieger.Which can come with everything I need in the $800 neighborhood.But,there are so many options,that I need help in deciding.
Not against the lower priced barrels.But,Im spending time ,ammo,money and effort.I want to give myself the best chance of it being a lights out shooter.
I would appreciate any opinions based on past experience.

Go to PF website and get you a barrel made by Mark and pick up a bolt from him as well.
Mark has bartlein, Krieger, lijia and criterion.

Can't support this post enough. Mark is a small shop owner, local USA made stuff. He's particular, and busy. Your barrel will be a while. But know that going in, and be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

My precision firearms with 20” Bartlien shoots everything that I have put thru it very well. My 20” Precision Firearms Lilja is just a slight step behind it

Call Mark at Precision Firearms and he will fix you up. Next barrel I buy will be a Bartlein from him. Ask him about a Grendel forum discount.

+1 don’t wast time get Mark to set you up and shoot .5 MOA or less out the box.

I just got off the phone with Mark at precision firearms.
He recommends a 24 inch Krieger heavy barrel .Said its his best barrel and gets best groups .
I was wanting a 20 inch medium contour barrel but I also want half inch groups@100 yrds and Im going to shoot it at the 600 yard range .
There is no difference in price between a 20 or 24 inch barrel. At this point , im not ready to order yet .I would appreciate some more feedback.

If it's going to be a target rig and not humped around the feild much hunting, I would go with the 24 inch and get the extra 100 fps in velocity it will give you over the 20 inch.

Shooting for groups? Get the 24" HB recommended by Mark. He knows what he's talking about. Kreiger barrel? It is quite hard to do better than that.
What other feedback do you need?
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

These are just my thoughts and probably worth what you're paying for them. I've shot and owned a 20"
Lilja AR740 and currently am running a Black Hole Weaponry 22" in medium (.875 behind the gas block) contour. Both have been great, sub-MOA barrels. I've experience moments of brilliance flirting with sub-.5MOA. .6 three shot groups are common with both. From an accuracy perspective it's a dead heat.
If I was taking a rifle into the field, the Lilja would be the one. It's lighter and shorter and just better suited for that use. Its accurate. Perhaps not .5 MOA accurate but then again in your hands it might be. Plus, I suspect there's one on the shelf and could be in your hands in a week.
If you wanting the most accurate bench gun, go with Mark at PF. Build in some wait time for the purchase.

I decided that I want Mark @ PF to build me an upper w/24” Krieger Heavy barrel.But,I can’t spend $1700 right now.But,I will make it happen within a year.
Today,I got myself a Criterion 22” hbar 6.5 Grendel barrel from Brownells for $270 delivered.I have an AR15 upper,gas block,tube and 6.5 Grendel bolt already.
I am settling for now.But,for the money,I know this Criterion barrel will shoot.I own a 22” .224 Valkyrie 6.5 twist Criterion,several .223 Criterion hybrid barrels.(All Brownells)All are sub moa shooters.
No,my Criterion’s are not as accurate as the Krieger 26” bull barrel on my 308 RPR.(It does 1/2” or better groups all day!)But My Criterions will do sub moa pretty consistently.(3/4”
I still want a grendel that can shoot 1/2” groups consistently and I am a little disappointed that I can’t do it now but a man has to take of his responsibilities before pleasure.
