If yours is the one by dj, i like it. Just curiousity, I'm not a lawyer and the rules confuse me but is that a verticle foregrip and are those legal on pistols?

Thanks, it is my baby indeed. There was a lot of discussion about the vfg in the comments on the Firearms Blog. Basically, my understanding (I am a lawyer but don't practice in the realm of firearms regulations so my understanding may be wrong or incomplete) is that the vfg is ok under current law/ATF interpretations because the overall length exceeds 26". I wouldn't take that as gospel though, and I did remove the vfg just to play it safe in case I am misunderstanding the rule or the ATF decides to change it.

Putting vertical grip on a handgun creates an AOW... However, a pistol that is over 26 inches in overall length ceases to be a handgun and simply becomes a "firearm" in the eyes of the BATFE, of which putting a VFG on does not change its classification. Convoluted, yes... but that's the jist. Any 12 inch barreled AR15 with a carbine length tube should make the cut.
