+1 for the WCI brake! I've got one on my .338 Lapua and it really does it's job. I know, I shot it without it 5 times just to see.

This is the same Brake we have been using on the 450 Bushmaster with great success. Ross can make them for any caliber and most any thread. Stainless or Chrome Moly.

He will taper them to match your barrel and he crowns the brake.
$45.00. He is also considering making thread protectors.
Storm Lake makes a thread protector for 9/16"X24TPI, and I have one installed on my Grendel right now.
WCI also makes a fine brake.

I will add a +1 to Ross's break, I am using it on my Grendel and with it I can spot my hits at 300 through the scope.

I will get back with John later today. I've been on the phone with him tonight, but I can post a link here that will give most of the R&D on the 450 Bushmaster Ross Brake and also his custom Recoiless Stocks.
Here is a post I started that took several links to past R&D that John "Gunnut" has done using an accelerometer with sensors attached to the weapons. Some of the tests reflect his R&D on his stocks and some data reflects tests done with Brakes. This a very heavy read so put a little Chickory in your coffee.
