Custom 6.5 Grendel bolt gun with custom 6 round magazine

Hey guys. Just wanted to pass along that I have just put together a 6.5 Grendel (actually .264 LBC-AR chamber) bolt gun. Remington 700 PTG blueprinted, 24" Bartlein barrel with a functioning 6 round detachable box magazine. It is listed on Gunbroker as #578917659.

It is a varmint contour so is kinda heavy. Gun weighs 9 pounds. Shoots like a dream. Have not put many rounds thru it as I am selling it but I shot some 120g Bergers (loads from my AR gun) which grouped very nicely. Also some 100g Nos Ballistic Tips which did not do quite as well but sure made a monkey out of my AR Grendel with that bullet. Recoil is very nice-similar to my gas gun AR-maybe a little milder.

Nice rig. Do you have a link to that particular bottom metal and the exact magazine used? .223,7mm-08, or the .22-250.

I figured someone would ask. The bottom metal is ATI polymer distributed by Legacy Sports International. I used their .223 magazine and ground on the inside of the feed lips to make the slot wide enough for the fatter Grendel case to be high enough to get picked up by the bolt. I also shortened the feed lips so the round would be released before the bullet touched the upper portion of the chamber approach. Basically I tried to duplicate the position of the .308 round in their .308 mag which works very well BTW.
