Grendel based wildcat

That wildcat 6.5 Grendel necked up to a 7.62. And since a 6.5 Grendel is a 7.62x39 necked down to a 6.5 the the difference is...is... Well he is much more accurate with a rifle then I am.

The major needs the necks turned.
The 30ARX is just a neck up with dies and uppers available from Robert Whitley on the 6mmAR forum..
it looks like a 20 inch barrel is the best option.
The 16 inch doesn't seem to be much faster than the 7.62x40WT.

You are correct 45r., I own a 7.62x40 WT., in a 16". It's all that's needed for close in shots. That .30 major is close to the Rem 30 AR round. Good for longer shots.

The 30 ARX is the easier option to the Major. We all have lots of reload items already, so why get neck turning items -if not needed?

The best part of the shorty 40, as I call it, is- I don't freak on the bolt issues.- And the 5.56 brass it's formed from is cheaper than Grr brass..

I'll be close to 2650-2700 using 100 gr pills in GmX form on the .40wt. That's very comparible to the Grr, as far as true on deer damage-death, using a 110 Gmx in 6.5mm.- in a 20" tube.

The 7.62x40 with a 16 inch barrel is said to be a very efficient deer killer out to around 250 yards.
I like 16 inch barrels the most and might turn a 300BLK barrel into a 7.62x40 since I shoot mostly supers in it.
It's hand lapped and very accurate and want to turn it to a lighter profile also.
Using the same stuff from a 556 does make things cheaper.
