Weatherby Vanguard S2 .308 -> 6.5 Grendel?

Would this be a decent enough attempt at a conversion?
I have the Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 rifle in .308 but have decided I don't need that rifle, preferring other calibers for different tasks (.270, 300Wby, 6.5 Grendel).

I'm thinking it might not be straightforward because of the way the Weatherby is set up. Certainly a barrel swap would be in order. But, I'm thinking the receiver (?) would require significant changes.

It would work well.

The easiest magazine system would be a plastic AICS 223 in a DBM which has been slightly modified for good feeding.

The boltface would need to be bushed slightly, but any competent gunsmith could manage that.

Why plastic? The plastic 223 AICS magazine can be quickly and simply modified to deliver a Grendel sized magazine box. The metal ones from Accurate Mag, etc. are a PITA to modify, and are no more or less rugged than the AICS 223 magazine. Metal is greatly over-rated in magazines, costly, heavy, rustable and noisy. Well made plastic magazines are cheaper, lighter and simply won't rust. They also won't collapse if you drop one on the ground and tread on it.

I'm a big fan of my pmags on my 5.56. Wish they made them for the Grendel too.
