Twist rate and suitable bullets

With an Alexander Arms AR-15 A3 Overwatch 1 in 9 twist 24" SS barrel, what would be the longest/heaviest bullet I could expect to stabilize? I realize there can certainly be variations....but I'm looking for an average value. Primary use would be for target shooting and whitetail hunting.

Given the practicality of shooting heavy bullets with Grendel given the limited col most people stick to the 100-123 bullet wieght range for most applications and even if you go heavier the 1 in 9 will work fine all the way to the trans sonic range

If you search I think Bwild had good accuracy all the way up to 142smk's but your velocity pays the price

Short of actual experience with the 1-9 twist, you can get close to the answer by using the JBM twist rate calculator (http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin/jbmstab-5.1.cgi) or go to bullet manufacturer's web pages for recommended twist rates.

On the shilen website I believe it says up to 130gr. for the 1in 9 twist. I have shot the 139 Lapua's out of mine with ok results. With factory hornady 123 Amax's I shot far better.
