I heard of a case where an LT though it would be prudent to make a field expedient coffee heater by burning some C4 under a canteen cup. When it came time to put it out, he stomped it. BOOM. 1/2 of foot gone.

If the story is true, it would be a prime example of why those type of warnings exist.
